Best ever trip to Ormside Mill for Whitemoss Youth …

Whitemoss returned to Ormside Mill for the first time since the pandemic! The volunteers at Whitemoss have been bringing up people for residential trips full of activities for many, many years, and this year was ‘the best they’ve ever had!’.

The weather was certainly not on our side, raining from the moment of arriving to the sun coming out as soon as we set off back to Manchester, but that by no means stopped us from having lots of fun and pushing ourselves! All the young people summited Dufton Pike, which was a real challenge in the very wet and windy conditions. Near enough all the young people’s free time in the grounds of Ormside Mill was in the river on the rope swing! Well if you’re already drenched by rain, why not go in water!? We finished off the last morning with some archery which was a lot of fun!

Grace, our DofE and Clubs’ Engagement Officer was the minibus driver for this trip and ran all the activities for this group. We are trying to break down as many barriers as possible, both logistical and financial in order to get as many youth clubs and young people up to Ormside Mill.
