What an important moment in Salford Lads and Girls Club’s history we have been part of! Last week, the first Salford Girls Club camping trip happened up at Ormside Mill. Salford Lads Club have traditionally done an annual camp for the lads for well over 100 years! After an amazing lads camp in May we have been constantly working with the club to get a girls trip organised and last week we were very proud to be part of what was an amazing trip for them.
The girls had a massive few days including hiking up to Orton Scar, battling winds canoeing on Ullswater, spending time working together through lots of fun team building challenges, scaling new heights tree climbing, facing lots of fears abseiling off a viaduct and met lots of curious animals including a tortoise, snake, frog, rabbit, ferret, hedgehog and lots more!
We saw so many of the young Salford girls face their own personal challenges, be resilient and push through them! We also saw the girls learnt to be more patient and respect one another. It was an incredible few days and have loved being part of what is going to be a new era for the girls at Salford Lads and Girls Club!
