The Hideaway’s trip to Ormside Mill

The Hideaway’s trip to Ormside Mill

The Hideaway based in Partington had their first trip ever up to Ormside Mill over the first weekend of October Half Term!

The Hideaway have a group called ‘Inspiring Dads’, whose aim is to support Dads in the local area! They say ‘Being is Dad is hard! There’s very little training or support and yet we’re supposed to know how to care for our little bundles of joy, raise children in the right way and all the while supporting our family and looking after our own mental health. Inspiring Dads is the name of a new family project which is part of our extensive Family & Education team support.‘ They have drop in weekly sessions and social events, for Dad’s to spend quality time with their kids, building stronger bonds and relationships.

Over the last few months, we have worked closely with The Hideaway to help organise lots of logistics for their first trip up to Ormside Mill this October. We also funded the cost of their accommodation, which supported them massively. The aim of the camp was for 6 Dads and their 6 Kids to have the chance to do amazing activities and challenges, working together to build on their relationships and create stronger bonds, and boy did they do that! They had a great weekend of team building activities, canoeing on Ullswater and conquering fears up in the high ropes onsite!

After the success of this trip, they are planning on doing bigger and better ones in 2023! Very exciting times for families in Partington!
