I grew up on an estate in Newton Heath, North Manchester and I know first hand of the personal challenges and impact living in an area of deprivation, substance misuse and knife crime has on friends, families, and the wider community.
I got involved in youth work at age 13, volunteering for my local football team and was I surrounded by football coaches and youth workers guiding me towards a direction I could envision, a passion and a career.
I have over a decade of experience in building positive relationships and providing opportunities for children and young people, working across Local, Regional and National VCS Organisations, NGB’s, and with Local & National Authorities.
I believe it is key we continue to provide a safe space for children and young people to access information and guidance, to build skills and have positive experiences, and most importantly to provide a place for them to simply ‘be kids’.
